Healthy Again!

Life is great isn't it?! Today is my first time blogging in about 2 weeks. I had surgery almost a week ago. I have been relaxing, catching up on my TV and crocheting. I am feeling much better. I am working on a filet crochet runner for Christmas. I love the holidays and filet crochet is so easy to do. It always works up so pretty!

Baby Dreams

I finished the baby blanket I was working on. I decided to edge it with #4 rose colored thread. It was pretty without it but I wanted something to add a little pizazz to it. The edging turned out beautiful and made it look even prettier. The yarn is so soft and wonderful to work with. It will be perfect to use as a crib blanket this winter. I hope she likes it!

Sweet Baby Dress

I am so happy with the way my baby dress turned out! Rose is my favorite color and I imagined a sweet little baby girl toddling around in it..Making baby afghans or clothes is one of my favorite projects. The yarn is small, soft and so nice to work with. I am making another one in off white that really has that antique feel. I'd like to think that whoever owns it will hand it down for future generations to enjoy!

Baby Blanket

Hey Everyone,

I am working on a baby afghan for my friend Brittany. She is so ready to have her sweet little girl. She knows down to the minute how long it is til the baby comes! Just under 7 weeks til baby Harper comes. I bought variegated yarn to make the blanket with. She was hiking through Africa last year so the colors of Africa has become the colors she will decorate her baby room with. I love babies!

4th of July

Happy Monday everyone.. I was thinking about our upcoming 4th of July and remembered a flag afghan I hadn't finished yet. Sometimes I get bored with my current project and move on to the next. I think we all may have a closet with unfinished projects! I know I do. It is a beautiful afghan that looks like the American Flag. I am going to work on it today and post it when I am finished! Have a great Monday!

Halloween Fun for Parker

I was looking in my closet today and the bright orange of my fun Halloween afghan caught my eye. I had so much fun making this afghan for my grandson Parker. Halloween is lots of fun for the kids so I wanted to make something special that we could drag out every October. It was a hit! The pattern is mine and I am proud of how well it turned out. I love making afghans to give as gifts. When loved ones snuggle up in your afghan they remember how much you love them!

Patterns

I spent a couple of hours today looking for elegant vintage scarf patterns online. I love all the websites that will give you free patterns to knit or crochet. I love free! I found a gorgeous pattern that uses soft mohair yarn. Yummy.....I will be making this one but adapting the yarn to a less expensive type. It will be just as beautiul but more affordable. It's not to early to start thinking of Christmas gifts.....Hmmmmmm." Happy Tuesday ladies"

Loretta

Where are my manners. I want to say Thanks to my wonderful sis Loretta for being the first person to visit my blog. She is showing the original Virginia handbag. Lo, You are my angel and always there for me. I adore you!

Elegant Scarves

Today I am working on a beautiful sky blue scarf in an elegant lace design. I have a friend who just loves to wear scarves. I have never gotten into them as a fashion accent but have worn them as a keep me warm accent! Who knows maybe I will find a pattern for one that I will rock with a cute outfit...Imagine that.

Happy Saturday!

I am excited to have a Blog! I love to interact with other people who love to craft as much as I do. One day I will have my own craft shop where I can proudly display all the beaufitul items that I make. Recently I made a baby dress in a beautiful rose color. I was so happy with the way it turned out, it is sure to be an antique to hand down for many years to come.
